A special treat for Today's cookie Friday, a charm bracelet.. made of real cookies. They even give you the recipe to make your own cookie jewelry!
Makes 60 charms
- 185g butter chopped
- 220g caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 375g plain flour sifted
- 1 medium egg
- 1 medium egg yolk
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tsp milk
- pink food colouring
- Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla in a food processor until smooth. Add the flour, egg and egg yolk and process until the mixture just comes together. Turn out on to a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.
- Divide into 3 pieces. Place one piece in the food processor, add the cocoa and milk and whiz until well combined. Set aside. Place another piece in the food processor, add a few drops of pink food colouring and process until well combined. Wrap each piece of dough in clingfilm and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out each piece of dough between 2 sheets of nonstick baking paper until 5mm thick.Use small cookie cutters to cut shapes fromthe dough. Use a metal piping nozzle to cuta hole in the centre of each shape.
- Place on baking trays lined with nonstick baking paperand bake for 8-10 minutes or until crisp. Allowto cool on the trays. Thread the charms on to pieces of cord, tying a knot between each charm to keep them separate.
